The text: Shooting an Elephant
Author: George Orwell
Subject: Masters and Servants

Although I agree with the text to some extent , I will object to some crucial points it. I think, masters are a kind of servants as George Orwell said in ‘Shooting an Elephant’. They expose to will to power, need to recognition*, do not have independent free-will. In fact, they have tol ive with fear concerning a lack of objects (servants).
I want to start the point which I do not agree with the text. Even if George Orwell who hates society and the state seems as a different man himself, in my opinion, he looked like other people. For example: While he initially went to much too small to kill an elephant, he said that ‘’ I was monentarily worth watching.’’ He felt an enormous power when he saw two thousounds people and this power changed a part of his ideas. Moreover, he legalized that a person is killed! He said that ‘’ I was very glad that the coolie had been killed…
Other important point is recognition. It means that every master needs to recognize by servants. As Hegel said that every master is a subject and therefore, every servant must be object. In fact, there exists a kind of dependency against servants for masters. Because a master must satisfy its! Servants, it is not free. Of course, servants are not free too. But as Orwell had to kill an elephant even though he did not want to do that, masters feel that they must protect their status.
